I work in the building next door to the Starbucks at 26th and J in Midtown Sacramento. My office is in the back. The front office, however, is “Midtown Employment”. Bessy owns the building and “Midtown”. She is 80 and never misses work. Her little sister, Penny, is my boss. I love Bess and Penny. They are like mothers to me, and although they have rough, Greek exteriors, they are the most compassionate and loving people I’ve ever known. I’ve learned a lot from them.
