While the Cats Away…
The Mice Will Play!
Heath is at the conference. He left three days ago, and the house has quickly turned from somewhat orderly and organized to complete chaos. I asked my incredibly intelligent daughter, “What would dad think if he saw the house like this?” While resting a bottle of Calistoga on her little tummy she simply replied, “What’s wrong? We’re living the good life, mom.”

My husband Eric is at Origins also! And yes, the house is a mess… but I did some cleaning tonight… He’s usually in charge of all that…. anyway I saw your monalisa with dadaism on it… please tell me what that means! I heard it the other day and was curios as to what it meant. Sorry for the ignorance!!

I did some cleaning tonight, as well!
Okay. Dadaism. Here it goes…
Dadaism was based on the principles of intentional absurdity and anarchy (or chaos) and the denial of the traditional standards of beauty and society. This was mainly expressed through visual arts, literature and theater. Dada derived from Germany, Switzerland and France around WWI.
I find Dadaism appealing from a thespian’s point of view. While studying theater in college I learned to appreciate theater “outside the box. Theater of the Absurd in many ways derived from Dadaism. Playwrights like Bertolt Brecht, Samuel Beckett and especially Eugene Ionesco inspired me to look at all art in a different light.
Viewing church through Dadaism, reveals that the universal church can shed it’s tradition and embrace the unknown (of course only having to do with the current and accepted church structure); thus opening up a realm of beauty we never knew existed!
This is too ambiguous, I know. But it somehow makes perfect sense to me!
